How EXACTLY does drinking water aid weight loss?
I have been dieting for the past two and have managed to cut down considerably on my alcohol comsumption and food in general. As I don’t eat between meals anyway I don’t see the point of all the water the experts say I should be drinking. I’ve tried to drink at least a litre and a half (did this for a week) but find I am peeing all the time and don’t want my work colleagues to think there is something wrong with me.I am also kept up at night with this problem and find I am tired during the day as I am not sleeping right through the night.

The water has many attributes to aid in weight loss. The first, and most obviously, it helps you to feel full. Secondly, especially when beginning a weight loss program, water is the single best thing to help wash out all the impurities in your body. Thirdly, when you first start losing weight, you tend to lose “weight water” first. If not replenished, this can put your body into a tail spin electrolyte-wise, therefore replacing the water is essential. It doesn’t add weight (as you know, since you are going to the bathroom all the time), it just is getting rid of all the bad things that have been storing up for awhile. Try to continue for a little while longer with the water. Your body will adjust and you will find you are excusing yourself to the bathroom less and less. Good luck!
